Become a Frederick Douglass Global Fellow

Applications for the 2023 Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship are now open! The time has come for you to apply to join other exceptional student leaders of color on this fully-funded, four-week, custom summer student abroad program.

Twelve high-achieving changemakers will be announced as our 2023 Fellows on March 17, 2023. From July 7 – August 4, 2023, the Fellows will travel together to Washington D.C., Cape Town, Dublin, Derry, and Belfast, walking the same historic steps Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, John Lewis, Nelson Mandela, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Daniel O’Connell, John Hume, and other giants of social change once took in the name of social justice and peace-building.

To be considered for this once-in-a-lifetime study abroad opportunity, submit your Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship application by February 14, 2023.

The Frederick Douglass Scholars Grant
All eligible applicants who submit a completed application for the Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship and are not selected as a Fellow will be awarded a $1,500 Frederick Douglass Scholars Grant. This grant may be applied to any study abroad program during summer 2023, fall 2023, spring 2024, or summer 2024.
